Hi Megin! Thanks for this, I’ve only read the aleph and I will certainly check the rest of them. The first story that comes to mind for me is Eveline, by James Joyce. I bet there’s more, but that was my first reaction to your post, so I guess it counts for something...

Kalispera, Valia! Interesting, I don't know anything about that story, but I know I have a cheap copy of Dubliners somewhere in my apartment, so I have it near. The first chapter of Portrait of the Artist... was really visceral for me, but I also read it when I was 15 or so & reading left such a strong mark at times.
